Welcome to the Center for Cosmetic Eyelid and Laser Surgery, where Craig E. Berris, M.D. and our skilled and caring staff take pride in providing exceptional patient service. In addition to helping you achieve surgical results you will love, we strive to make receiving treatment a pleasant experience from beginning to end. At our center, we provide Sacramento residents with a variety of options, including blepharoplasty, forehead lift surgery, and other facial cosmetic surgery procedures.
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a popular procedure for improving the appearance of the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both. Drooping lower lids or under-eye puffiness can make a person look older or more tired than he or she feels and may even obstruct one's vision.
At our Sacramento practice, Dr. Berris performs blepharoplasty to help patients attain a more vibrant, youthful appearance. The procedure takes one to three hours and is performed under general or local anesthesia.
During upper eyelid surgery, Dr. Berris makes an incision along the natural crease of the eye and removes excess tissue. Lower eyelid surgery is a similar procedure, involving the removal of excess fat and, sometimes, muscle. In both procedures, the skin is tightened to create a smoother, more pleasing appearance and to allow the natural beauty of the eyes to shine through.
After blepharoplasty, patients may experience bruising and swelling, which will usually resolve in a few weeks. Patients are usually able to return to work in five to seven days, but should wait two weeks or more before wearing contact lenses. Strenuous activities should be avoided for at least three weeks.
The results of blepharoplasty may last for several years or longer. For more information on eyelid surgery, please visit our blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery) page.
Also known as a brow lift, forehead lift surgery aims to correct frown lines or horizontal creases on the forehead and eyebrows that are lower than aesthetically desired. These conditions may make a person appear tired or angry, regardless of how he or she feels. They can also make people look older than they actually are.
At our state-of-the-art outpatient surgical center, Sacramento plastic surgeon Craig Berris can perform forehead lift surgery to help patients enjoy an appearance that matches their youthful personality. Every part of the forehead lift procedure will be tailored to the individual patient's facial contours and aesthetic concerns to ensure the most natural-looking results.
During an initial consultation, Dr. Berris performs a comprehensive examination to determine whether forehead lift surgery is right for each individual. During this time, patients are encouraged to ask questions about the procedure. In his commitment to patient education, Dr. Berris explains all aspects of the procedure, including anesthesia, incision location, how to prepare for surgery, and what to expect after surgery. The effects of aging can be quite noticeable on the face. Skin may sag over time, and deep lines and wrinkles are bound to appear after many years. This means jowls, a double chin, loose skin around the eye area, and so forth. Many people just how they can fight such signs of aging and achieve a more youthful and appealing appearance.
At our Sacramento facial plastic surgery practice, we offer facelift surgery in order to tighten loose or sagging facial skin and reduce the appearance of problematic wrinkles. The facelift procedure can be combined with blepharoplasty and brow lift for a complete facial rejuvenation, or it can be combined with non-surgical aesthetic treatments as well.
During a facelift surgery, Dr. Berris will make discreet incisions around the ear area. He will work through these well-hidden incisions to help remove excess skin, adjust tissues and structures of the face, and tighten the skin of the face overall. If there is sagging of the lower parts of the face, an incision may be made just below the chin to adjust those facial structures. To learn more about the facelift, be sure to visit our facelift surgery page.
A non-surgical alternative to traditional facial plastic surgery, a liquid facelift employs an assortment of dermal injectables to restore lost volume and soften facial lines. Learn more about this innovative treatment on our liquid facelift page.
